Possible reasons for this error message

check your server root folder if it is full . issue the command below to check if the root folder is full

df

Before deletion

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/vg_server-lv_root    237241024    225277672 0       100% /
tmpfs 16384424 0 16384424       0% /dev/shm
/dev/sdb1 487652      150896 311156       33% /boot
/dev/sda1 961301832     98841776 813622016          11% /home
/usr/tmpDSK 4128448     664712 3254024        17% /tmp

if the root folder is 100%   delete some files, maybe delete the /backup files if required

check your root folder for .core.xxxx files, they easily fill up the root folder

After deletion

dev/mapper/vg_server-lv_root      237241024 188340292   36842928        84% /
tmpfs 16384424 0 16384424               0% /dev/shm
/dev/sdb1 487652 150896 311156                33% /boot
/dev/sda1 961301832 98841820 813621972          11% /home
/usr/tmpDSK 4128448 664700 3254036            17% /tmp

After  reducing the root folder to less than 100% issue the command  . That is After deleting the file issue the command to restart the server mysql

root@server [/]# /scripts/restartsrv_mysql
Waiting for “mysql” to restart ……waiting for “mysql” to initialize ………finished.
